Went to sukhothai today, the founding city of siam. We got on the bikes again and set off round the ruins, except this time there was no town inbetween them as tge place has been made a world heritage sight. It was boiling hot and much bigger than we thought but we made it round, we even climbed the biggest hill to see a big buddha and get a good view. Sweated buckets but it was well worth it.
You really look like you are in the middle of nowhere. Part of me is reminded of the temple scenes in the Jungle Book. Part of me can imagine the stillness of such a beautiful place slowly being absorbed back into nature. xxxx
